Lowering the driving age to 17 for apprentices and workers during working hours
- Improve employment and training opportunities for regional young people
- Licence only available for travel to, from and during work
This would be based on the interstate model, where young people can drive as a P plater from 17. The early licence would only be available to apprentices or others in the workforce and would allow those on this licence to drive to and from work and during work hours only.
